the first painting I did in Norway, summer of 2024.....
NORWAY 2024 / FINLAND 2008:
In 2024, I visited Oslo, Norway, for two weeks and did six paintings there (they are gradually being ‘finished’ and uploaded to this site). I hope to be be making a return trip, perhaps in summer of 2025!
In 2008, I took a trip to Finland with fellow painter Paul Reuther for about a month. The photo below ( taken by a Dutch tourist) is of me painting on the Kemijoki River, about 50 miles north of the Arctic Circle, in southern Lapland. We were there in June, and it stayed light until roughly 11 p.m.! So it was possible to start a painting at 9 o'clock at night and get a good session in!
